Membership Types

There are five different levels of membership in the South Carolina Health Care Association. The following describes each level and its benefits.

  • Institutional Members (Nursing Homes)
  • Facility Associate Members (Assisted Living)
  • Basic Associate
  • Trade Associate
  • Personal

Institutional Membership

Any nursing home currently licensed by the state of South Carolina shall be eligible to make application for institutional membership in the Association.

Benefits include:

  • Monthly newsletter which includes regulatory information, news articles, and upcoming events.
  • Access to Long Term Care Trend Tracker
  • Ability to achieve AHCA/NCAL National Quality Award
  • Member fees for seminars and workshops
  • Affiliate membership with American Health Care Association
  • Invitation to the Spring Convention and Showcase, Winter Conference and Elections and all membership meetings
  • Representation by a registered lobbyist to insure fair and equitable reimbursement for services rendered in order to provide quality care

Assisted Living Facility Membership

Any Assisted Living community currently licensed by the state of South Carolina shall be eligible to make application for Assisted Living Facility membership in the Association.

Basic Associate Membership

Basic Associate Membership includes institutions, organizations, agencies or associations interested in promoting the objectives of the Association.

Benefits include:

  • Monthly newsletter which includes regulatory information, news articles, and upcoming events.
  • Attendance at non-restricted seminars and workshops for company representative at member fees
  • Complimentary copy of SCHCA Buyer’s Guide and Directory

Basic Associate membership application

Trade Associate Membership

Trade Associate Membership includes institutions, organizations, agencies or associations interested in promoting the objectives of the Association.

Benefits include:

  • A booth at Annual Showcase
  • Monthly newsletter which includes regulatory information, news articles, and upcoming events.
  • Attendance at non-restricted seminars and workshops for company representative at member fees
  • Complimentary copy of SCHCA Buyer’s Guide and Directory

Trade Associate Membership Applications are available from January through April. Email the Association at schca@schca.org to submit a request to receive Showcase information when it becomes available.

Personal Membership

Personal  Membership includes persons affiliated with nursing  home institutions or organizations having institutional membership in the Association or persons not associated with a nursing institution eligible for membership.

Benefits include:

  • Monthly newsletter which includes regulatory information, news articles, and upcoming events.
  • Attendance at seminars and workshops in order to maintain credit hours
  • Attendance at the Spring Convention and Showcase, Winter Conference and other meetings
