South Carolina’s Long Term Care Ombudman Program is administered by the Lt. Governor’s Office on Aging through ten regional offices. Support and services provided by the Long Term Care Ombudsman Program are free. The Ombudsman program works to protect the the health, safety, and rights of persons receiving care in long term care facilities. The program functions in large part through trained volunteers who work to educate and empower residents of care facilities and their families and to investigate and help resolve complaints when they arise.
