Paige Hector earned her Bachelor of Social Work and Sociology degree from Nebraska Wesleyan University, and a Master of Social Work degree from Arizona State University. She has over 20 years experience in medical social work and has worked in many health care settings including pain and palliative medicine, acute care, long term care, adult day care and case management. As a clinical educator and consultant, she gives workshops and seminars in a variety of settings and demonstrates a wide range of clinical knowledge and skills that encompasses the entire interdisciplinary team. Paige is skilled at inspiring staff to critically evaluate their own organizations and then gives them the resources and guidance to make necessary changes. She is committed to maintaining the most current knowledge on best practices, regulatory changes and clinical advances and strives to share that information in her lectures and written reports. In May 2009, Paige initiated The Arizona Long-term Care Social Work Task Force to promote the highest level of social work services in the long-term care setting. In 2004, she was instrumental in the development of the TLC HealthCare™ Pain & Palliative Medicine Practice. As an active member of the Nursing Home Social Work Webinar Planning Committee and a member of the Social Work Long-Term Care Research Network, a national group of social work leaders, and a CMS Social Work Research Call Group, she works hard to improve the quality of social work services which then directly impacts residents’ psychosocial well-being and quality of life. Paige holds membership in the American Medical Directors Association (AMDA) and the National Association of
Social Workers (NASW).
