Session Description: This full day workshop is designed specifically for activity professionals who work with people with dementia every single day. Participants will build a strong clinical foundation covering types of dementia, stages, communication strategies, and person centered care. Then we shift into the heart of the work: how to design purposeful, sensory rich programming that creates genuine moments of joy and connection. Every participant leaves with practical tools, real scripts, and a new framework for turning ordinary activities into meaningful experiences for every resident they serve.
Objectives:
- Understand how dementia affects the brain, communication, and daily engagement so you can meet your residents exactly where they are
- Apply person centered strategies and activity modifications that work across all stages of dementia
