Session Description: This seminar will assist both new and seasoned staff with how to conduct investigations into allegations of mistreatment, misappropriation of property and unknown injuries.

1. Key Elements of a Thorough Investigation into Allegations of Abuse Objectives:
   • Understand new CMS guidelines on Abuse Tags
   • Identify barriers to reporting and investigating abuse
   • Identify the key elements necessary to complete a thorough investigation of allegations of abuse
   • Identify key elements of interviewing and documenting staff and resident interviews
2. Understanding the Psychosoical Outcome Severity Guide Objectives:
   • Understand updates to the Psychosocial Outcome Severity Guide
   • Identify how surveyors will use this guide to determine deficiency categorization
